Choose us if value is your main concern.

The restoration of your hardwood floors is an investment and preserves one of the most precious elements of your home.

We'll be the ones working on our hands and knees restoring your floors, from the initial assessment to the final cleanup.

We distinguish ourselves in 8 ways that really matter to you the client.

We dedicate all our talents and energies solely to the repairing and specialty refinishing of hardwood floors. We do little else. We feel that concentrating only on the refinishing aspect is what is required to become a specialist. Do you not agree?

To illustrate, I will not, when decided to eat Greek food walk into a restaurant that advertises ‘Greek, Chinese and East Indian Food.’ I want a dedicated Greek restaurant and if the menus are only in Greek then all the better! I would like the owner to be Greek, the servers, music and decor to be Greek. Concentrate on one thing and do it well.

Our approach is simply different. The “fastest money” in this business is in producing a fair quality job, with quick with “middle-of-the road” quality finishes. Customers may be satisfied initially yet enduring value is lacking. We are not in the business to make a fast buck.

1) Fine refinishing techniques

Most hardwood floor companies will sand a floor up to the level of what we term an 80 grit. Few will take the additional time and use extra costly abrasives to bring the floor to a 100 grit level. The finer a floor is sanded the clearer and more defined the grain becomes.

For this reason we take a floor to the 120 grit level and then polish it to an even finer level. This leaves the floor extremely smooth and brings out more so the rich grain patterns. This is important as it virtually eliminates all abrasion marks that may show through the clear finishes.

A floor that is finely sanded will have a far more defined look. What do we mean? Each board’s individual character and ‘personality’ is highlighted and showcased. The grain pattern is crisp and clear. Of course this involves a fair number of additional man hours of work. Extremely fine finishing brings the finished appearance of your newly stained floor to a new level.

We find the end product far more satisfying visually as we are sure you will too, once all is finished and coated.

2) Attention to detail in the critical areas

The most common complaint of homeowners is that their baseboards, door casings and cabinetry have been damaged by the refinishing process. We take great pains to avoid this.

Our care and attention to detail in sanding the corners and in and around the door casings, posts, finished millwork and cabinetry we feel is second to none. This is the real test of a professional team.

3) Ceramic Coatings

Please consider this. If, when receiving a quote for the restoration of your hardwood floors, you were asked to pinpoint which aspect of the overall price represents the greatest value what would you answer? If you guessed the quality of the finish you would be correct. Why so?

The choice of finish, albeit a fraction of the overall project cost it is the most important element. The real value resides in the finish. Many can sand a floor fairly well. It is what we do with it after the initial sanding steps that really counts. What type or quality of finish will be applied to protect and preserve it?

High traffic areas will forcibly be subjected to more abuse than along the perimeter of a room. After a number of years, you want the finish to show as well in the high traffic areas as the areas less frequented.

Therefore, our ultimate goal is to refinish only once any given setting. When you have your floors refinished by us we would have no need to see you again for at least another twenty years if at all! And this would be for touch-ups or a simple recoat in the high traffic areas. Now if allowed to apply the WearMax advanced ceramic finish, we hope never to see you again. Not that we wouldn’t remain friends...you know what we mean.

Do you not agree that the one-time initial inconvenience and investment warrants many, many years of worry free living? So do we!

For this reason we put tremendous emphasis on not only the finishing process, but the finish itself and make this the focal point of our business. And logically so, for this is your only line of defence and protection. What would you say if we could offer you a finish that would last the remaining life of your floor, eliminating any further need to refinish your floor? See:  Ceramic - The Ultimate Finish System.

4) Quote tailored to your specific needs

Each floor has its own particular personality, character and needs. Each floor must be assessed on its own merit. A “one price or one size fits all” rule certainly does not apply when it comes to restoring your hardwood floors.

A careful assessment of your hardwood floor is done prior to us offering you a lengthy and detailed quote. The free in home estimate takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour as we gather our information and answer your all important questions. For more information see Why is there such a difference between the quotes that I have gathered? and Do I really need a written quote? for more information.
